Free APIs like PubChem and Open Targets provide entity lookups and basic associations. Galen adds causal inference (do-calculus, counterfactual reasoning), patient-level mutation interpretation, and a unified knowledge graph spanning 10+ databases. These capabilities have no free alternative.
Galen's knowledge graph is built from published research databases — it contains no patient data. For the Patient Interpretation endpoints, we process data transiently and do not store patient information. Designed with privacy-first principles.
