By accessing or using Galen (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.

Galen is an AI-powered cancer research platform that provides programmatic access to a cancer knowledge graph, causal inference engine, and biomedical databases through its API and developer tools. The Service includes both free and paid tiers.

Galen is NOT a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

• The information provided by Galen is for informational and research purposes only
• Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before making any medical decisions
• Never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of information provided by Galen
• Galen does not provide medical diagnoses, treatment recommendations, or clinical opinions

While Galen strives to provide helpful and accurate information:

• Biomedical data is sourced from multiple databases and may be incomplete, outdated, or contain errors
• AI-generated summaries and analyses may contain inaccuracies, misinterpretations, or hallucinations
• Causal inference results are computational and require independent scientific validation

Users are responsible for independently verifying all information with qualified professionals.

• You agree to provide only de-identified patient information when using patient interpretation endpoints
• You are solely responsible for how you use the information provided by Galen
• You agree not to use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• You agree not to exceed your rate limits or circumvent access controls

API keys are personal and non-transferable. You are responsible for keeping your API key secure. Sharing or publishing your API key may result in account suspension.

The Galen application, API, knowledge graph, and branding are the property of Galen Health. Biomedical data belongs to its respective sources (NIH, EBI, journal publishers, etc.). Your use of the API does not grant you ownership of any data returned.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Galen and its creators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of or inability to use the Service.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be reflected by updating the “Effective Date” at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles.
